The International Labor Organization (ILO) developed an action checklist entitled “Prevention and Mitigation of COVID-19 at Work”. It is a management tool that implements practical actions in mitigating the spread of COVID-19 pandemic at the workplace.

The tool is stemmed from the 2001 ILO Guidelines on occupational safety and health systems (§3.1.1.) which aims to provide arrangements for emergency prevention, preparedness, and response according to the size and nature of activity of the organization.

The tool consists of 30 indicators divided into 6 main areas on 1) Policy, Planning, and Organizing, 2) Risk Assessment, Management, and Communication, 3) Prevention and Mitigation Measures, and 4) Arrangements for Suspected and Confirmed COVID-19 Cases.

This tool can be accomplished by choosing the YES/NO/PRIORITY options. A REMARKS section is provided to put other information related under the said indicators.

However, the said list is not final as it encourages employers to add additional items appropriate to improve response to COVID-19 response at the workplace.
