ECOP participates in the 5th meeting of the NEDA Stakeholders’ Chamber

Last April 3, ECOP participated in the 5th Meeting of the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) Stakeholders’ Chamber held at Astoria Plaza, Ortigas. The SDGs Stakeholders’ Chamber, which is lodged under the Development Budget Coordination Committee (DBCC) Subcommittee on the Sustainable Development Goals (SC-SDGs), endeavors to collaborate and synergize non-government investments and advocacies, enhance the SDG implementation and promote awareness in the country.

The discussion covered the accomplishments, activities, and future plans of the four working groups (WGs) within the Stakeholders’ Chamber which includes:

1. Economic

2. Environment

3. Social

4. Peace, Security, and Governance

In addition to the four WGs, the creation of the Monitoring and Measurement and Communications and Advocacy were also proposed as functional WGs. The two groups are intended to function in support of the activities of the 4 thematic WGs especially in promoting the SDGs and the Chamber’s activities, and monitoring the timely implementation of the Chamber Roadmap and the progress of SDG implementation in the country.

ECOP is currently a part of the Economic WG which shall be tasked to implement Programs, Activities, and Projects (PAPs) that will support any of the following SDGs:

  • SDG 4: Quality Education
  • SDG 8: Decent work and economic growth 
  • SDG 10: Reduced Inequalities 
  • SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals
