The success of a company depends on its rank-and-file employees, supervisors, and managers. In this case, a supervisor is a leader in the first line of management of a company who looks after his subordinate employees’ performance and work. Supervisors who seek to promote their hardworking and/or talented rank-and-file employees tend to boost their loyalty and value for their position. On the other hand, some supervisors get stuck and merely focus on their previous rank-and-file tasks and have difficulty managing their new subordinates.
Executing management tasks is the primary responsibility of a supervisor. They make sure that management goals are met. In doing this, supervisors rely mostly on their people to work and complete their respective tasks. Having a harmonious relationship with their subordinates helps get their job done most efficiently. It is not easy to manage people. It requires a certain degree of skill, talent, discernment, and understanding.
This program’s overall goal is to increase the participants’ ability to apply the basic management principles and techniques at work, particularly in the adequate supervision of rank-and-file employees.
At the end of the program, participants will be able to:

Mr. Ralph Ivan Gutierrez is the former Human Resources Director, Quality Management Department Head, & Support Services Group Head of Ditus Sapienta Holdings, Inc. and also a part-time faculty member at the De La Salle College of St. Benilde School of Hotel, Restaurant, and Institution Management.
He is also a human resources development consultant of the Employers Confederation of the Philippines, where he runs management and employee development programs for ECOP member companies.
He obtained a Masters Degree in Industrial and Employment Relations at the University of Turin in Italy and a Master’s Degree in Industrial/Organizational Psychology and Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology both from the Ateneo de Manila University.
He also completed 2 short courses program on Industrial Relations and Human Resources Management and Management Training Program by the Association for Overseas Technical Cooperation and Sustainable Partnerships, in Tokyo, Japan.
He was also granted a full scholarship by Temasek Foundation and Nanyang Polytechnic International in their Innovation and Enterprise Leadership Programme at Nanyang Polytechnic, Singapore.
