The Association for Overseas Technical Cooperation and Sustainable Partnerships (AOTS) will conduct an online course Industrial Relations and Human Resource Management, from December 17, 2020, to February 26, 2021.

The program aims to help participants deepen their understanding of the Japanese labor situation and know the new trends in Japanese industrial relations (IR) and human resource management (HRM) in coping with business disruption brought about by the Corona Virus pandemic.

There will be a total of 21 participants for this program coming from different countries, such as Bangladesh, Cambodia, Fiji, Ghana, India, Indonesia, Lao P.D.R., Malaysia, Mexico, Mongolia, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan, the Philippines, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Turkey, and Vietnam.

METHODOLOGY

The seminar is consist of the following elements:

  1. Live streaming lectures by specialists and experts.
  2. Online company visits
  3. Group discussion and presentations by participants

TARGET PARTICIPANT

  • Junior to middle human resources managers
  • Willing to play a vital role in the dissemination of training programs to their respective company.


QUALIFICATION OF PARTICIPANTS

Applicants must meet all the following requirements:

Persons who are currently engaged in the field of Industrial Relations/Human Resources.

Junior to middle managers* or potential future managers or specialists who have more than two years of experience in the field of Industrial Relations/Human Resources

*Middle managers such as managers, section managers, or section chiefs are preferable (not beyond these positions).

Persons who are not over the age of 50 and not younger than 25 on the first day of the seminar.

*It is strongly advised that applicants’ ages fall within the range of 25 and 55 to maximize the outcome, i.e., dissemination of the seminar’s result and benefit at most from their participation in the seminar. Applicants who are under 25 or over 55 may not be eligible even if other requirements are satisfied.

Persons who graduated from either a four-year college or university course, or have an equivalent educational background.

Persons who have a good command of both written and spoken English.

If a candidate was not educated in English, a document that proves his/her English proficiency, e.g., official TOEFL or TOEIC score, should be attached.

Persons who are recommended by both ECOP and their employer.

Persons who are able to complete the seminar fully and to carry out two tasks.

To make a presentation on their ‘Action Plan’ on the final day of the seminar and send an ‘Action Plan Implementation Report’ to AOTS by Friday, March 26, 2021.

To send the ‘Evaluation Sheet for the Participant’s Organization’ to AOTS upon their return home.

Persons who can apply the lessons of the seminar in their daily working environment and disseminate the learning experiences and knowledge acquired from the seminar with the cooperation of Employers’ Organization.

Persons who are physically and mentally able to attend the seminar.

Persons should not be full-time students or military personnel.

Persons who have not attended the Employers’ Organization Cooperation Program previously in Japan over the past five years. However, the EREO seminar participants held in FY2018 are eligible to apply for seminars from FY2020.

Persons who can attend all online lectures and discussions during the seminar period. Equipment such as a personal computer, microphone, webcam, and internet connection to attend the online classes should be provided by the participants. The online lectures will be held from 15:00 to 17:00 in Japan Standard Time. An assignment may be given after each session. For participants with difficulties in attending live lectures because of the time difference, they are required to view a video stream of those lectures, excluding sessions of the presentation by participants.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Participants are requested to confirm their agreement with “Terms and Conditions for Participation in the AOTS Program,” which includes the following conditions:

  1. Participants must attend all online lectures and discussions during the seminar period.
  2. Regarding intellectual property rights, the streamed lectures may not be downloaded or recorded in any way, and they may also not be used for any other purpose than participation in the seminar. Data distributed to participants through the lectures may be used only for designated and approved purposes. The ID, password, and any other personal information issued to participants may not be used by anyone other than the designated person.
