The Employers Confederation of the Philippines (ECOP), in partnership with the International Labour Organization Country Office in the Philippines (ILO CO-Manila), organized an advocacy forum entitled “The SDGs and How Businesses Contribute to Them” last 05 December 2019 at the BA Securities Hall, Chamber of Commerce and Industry Plaza, Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City.

The forum featured discussions on the international context of the 2030  Agenda for Sustainable Development and its 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the Philippine government initiatives with particular focus on its decent work component, and the contributions of the private sector in achieving such goals. Participants included ECOP chapters, chambers of commerce, other industry associations, and private companies.

The forum organized to provide the membership of ECOP and PCCI  with key information on what the SDGs are, why they are relevant for the private sector, and what current practices other companies can replicate as well.
