The Employers Confederation of the Philippines (ECOP) attended the national presentation of the Philippines’ 2025 Voluntary National Review (VNR) and the launch of the Stakeholder Partnership Accelerator for Convergence and Engagement (SPACE) Web Application on 27 August 2025 at the Crowne Plaza Manila Galleria in Ortigas.

The event, led by the Department of Economic Planning and Development (DEPDev), highlighted the country’s evolving story of progress, resilience, and innovation in advancing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The VNR underscored how national commitments must translate into concrete, people-centered programs, complemented by local efforts through Voluntary Local Reviews (VLRs) presented by select cities.

The launch of the SPACE Web App marked another important milestone, providing a platform to strengthen collaboration, resource mobilization, information sharing, and SDG monitoring using the “whole-of-nation plus” approach.

As part of the Economic Working Group of the Stakeholders’ Chamber on the SDGs, ECOP continues to contribute to discussions on how the private sector can support the national development agenda. The Chamber remains a venue where the private sector’s role in advancing the SDGs, including areas such as decent work, sustainable enterprises, and climate action, is actively recognized.

Through its initiatives such as the SDG Value Scan and the new ESG Program, ECOP reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring that the business sector is an active partner in achieving the Philippines’ sustainable development agenda.

ECOP was represented by Advocacy Specialist Angela Usero.
