ECOP-ILO-PHILWEN conduct design thinking workshop among women entrepreneurs

On 23 January 2024, ECOP, together with the International Labour Organization and the Philippine Women’s Economic Network, through the Philippine Business Coalition for Women Empowerment, organised a Design Thinking Workshop to gather and assess insights from relevant stakeholders to come up with Key Recommendations on action steps that can be undertaken and considered by the leaders in creating policies.

Over 50 women entrepreneurs participated in the said workshop, representing women in the community, marketplace, and workplace.

The event was graced by estemeed resource speakers including Ms. Thermina Akram, Executive Director of the Philippine Center for Entrepreneurship, Go Negosyo and Mr. Jovito Katigbak, Chief Research Officer of the Center for International Relations and Strategic Studies, Foreign Service Institute, who shared impactful stories on how women-led micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) are critical to nation-building and inclusive economic growth.

This activity is made possible through ECOP’s Diversity & Inclusion (D&I) Committee of which PhilWEN serves as a Co-Chair. To know more about the Committee, you may send us an email at [email protected].
