ECOP facilitates Mongolian EBMOs’ study tour to the Philippines
The International Labour Organization (ILO) organized a study tour for participants from the Mongolian Employers Federation (MONEF) and Mongolian National Chambers of Commerce and Industry (MNCCI) last on 29 – 31 August 2023. The ILO project team sought the assistance of the Employers Confederation of the Philippines (ECOP) to ensure the effective organization and preparation for the tour. The objective of the study tour was to learn about the Philippine perspective and experience on policy advocacy, strategic compliance and tripartite and bipartite relations.
On the first day, the group met with ECOP Managers and some members of the Board of Governors, where they were informed of ECOP’s structure and operations, its relationship with the Chamber, unions and government.
The group also met with key people from the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) on their second day. Present were representatives from the Bureau of Labor Relations (BLR), Bureau of Working Conditions (BWC), National Wages and Productivity Commission (NWPC), and the Occupational Safety and Health Center (OSHC). The group was particularly interested about tripartism in the Philippines, labor inspection, certification for OSH specialists, collective bargaining, and minimum wage setting.
