ECOP launches #WorkTBFree e-learning modules during its 55th Members General Meeting
The Employers Confederation of the Philippines (ECOP), through its Occupational Safety and Health Academy (EOSHA), officially launched its e-learning modules on #WorkTBFree in its e-Campus during ECOP’s 55th Members General Meeting (MGM) held last 24 August 2023, at Club Filipino, Greenhills.
The event is a part of ECOP’s #WorkTBFree project, in partnership with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) USAID Philippines through its TB Innovations and Health Systems Strengthening (TBIHSS) managed by Family Health International (FHI 360), aimed at helping businesses implement a Tuberculosis (TB) Program in the workplace with the goal of contributing to the whole-of-society approach to eliminating TB by promoting healthy communities, workplace settings, and schools together with the public sector.
This event highlighted the role of employers in promoting a TB-free workplace and contributing to the eradication of the stigma and discrimination against TB. ECOP encouraged its members and stakeholders to take stronger coordinated action to prevent TB transmission and include TB elimination in their core responsibility.
Esteemed resource speakers who graced the event included Ms. Katherine Tilout of USAID Philippines, Engr. Rene Timbang from the Health Promotion Bureau of the Department of Health (DOH), Dr. Raffy Deray of the Disease Prevention and Control Bureau of DOH, Dr. Felix Labanda Jr. of DOLE – Bureau of Working Conditions, Dr. Ruth Orillaza-Chi of the USAID TB Innovations and Health Systems Strengthening Project and FHI360, and Dr. Jimffel A. Tejada of IBIDEN Philippines.
Over 100 participants attended the said event.
