The TB-Free Workplace Forum: Working to be TB-Free organized by Employers Confederation of the Philippines (ECOP) and TB Innovations and Health Systems project managed by Family Health International (FHI360) last August 22, 2019 at Makati Diamond Residences culminated in a symbolic signing of a joint statement of workplace stakeholders in the private sector to fight against tuberculosis (TB), the top infectious killer in the world.

The joint statement entitled “Race Against Time: A Call to Action to End TB” signifies a collective response to pursue a TB-free workplace, mobilize collective resources and strengths and work with concerned agencies and relevant government programs to the overall goal of TB elimination in the Philippines.

Present in the signing were Mr. Sergio Ortiz Luis Jr., President of Employers Confederation of the Philippines (ECOP), Atty. Sonny G. Matula, President of Federation of Free Workers, Mr. Alan Tanjusay of Trade Union Congress of the Philippines (TUCP), Ms. Susanita Tesiorna, President of Alliance of Workers with Special Concerns (ALLWIES), Mr. Elvin Uy Director for Operations, Philippine Business for Social Progress (PBSP), Ms. Anna Sofia Victoria Tamayo Salazar–Fajardo, MD, MBAH, DPCOM National Secretary of Philippine College of Occupational Medicine (PCOM) and Mr. Edwin Inciong President of Occupational Health Nurses Association of the Philippines (OHNAP)
