The Association for Overseas Technical Cooperation and Sustainable Partnerships (AOTS) will be conducting a training entitled “Instructors’ Training Course on the Management Training Program (MTP) [ERMI].” The program will be held on November 30 to December 9, 2020, through online classes, and on February 1 to 9, 2021, for face-to-face sessions (if the border restriction is lifted, participants will be invited to fly to Tokyo, Japan).

There will be a total number of 19 participants for this program coming from different countries, such as Bangladesh, Cambodia, India, Indonesia, Lao P.D.R., Malaysia, Mexico, Mongolia, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan, the Philippines, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Turkey, and Vietnam.

PROGRAM OVERVIEW

The “Management Training Program (MTP)” is a training program conducted by the Japan Industrial Training Association (JITA). It is a systematic program with the aim of learning “the basics of the management” required by “Managers” of any level who have a subordinate. In this program, participants will learn the basics of management and acquire the skills to perform as a management training instructor.

After completing the program, participants will be accredited as an MTP instructor and be eligible to instruct in their company/organization for public interest purposes.

TRAINING METHODOLOGY 

 All lectures will be streamed online. However, if the border restriction will be lifted, participants will be invited to fly to Tokyo, Japan, to attend the activities.

TARGET PARTICIPANT

Middle managers who supervise and instruct subordinates in Industrial Relations and/or Human Resource Management from ECOP member companies.

QUALIFICATION OF PARTICIPANTS

Applicants must meet all the following requirements:

Middle managers who supervise and instruct subordinates in Industrial Relations and/or Human Resource Management from ECOP member companies.

Middle managers who have at least five years’ managing experience or specialists who have at least five years’ training experience in the field of IR and/or HRM. *Five to fifteen years’ experience is preferable.

The participants must not be over 45 years old and not younger than 25 on the first day of the seminar. *It is strongly advised that applicants’ ages fall within the range of 25 and 45 to maximize the outcome (i.e. dissemination of the results of the seminar) and benefit at most from their participation in the workshop. The applicants under 25 or over 45 may not be eligible even if other requirements are satisfied.

Persons who graduated from either a four-year college or university course, or have an equivalent educational background.

Persons who have a good command of both written and spoken English. *If a candidate is not educated in English, a document that proves his/her English proficiency, e.g., official TOEFL or TOEIC score, should be attached.

Persons who are recommended by both Employers’ Organization and their employer.

Persons who are able to fully complete the seminar and to carry out two tasks.- To make a presentation on their ‘Action Plan’ on the final day of the seminar and send an ‘Action Plan Implementation Report’ to AOTS by March 12, 2021.- To send the ‘Evaluation Sheet for the Participant’s Organization’ to AOTS upon their return home.

Persons who are able to apply the lessons of the seminar in their daily working environment and to disseminate the learning experiences and knowledge acquired from the seminar after returning to their organization with the cooperation of Employers’ Organization.

Persons who are physically and mentally able to attend the seminar.

Persons should not be full-time students or military personnel.

Persons who have not attended the Employers’ Organization Cooperation Program previously in Japan over the past five years. However, the participants of the EREO seminar, which was held in FY2018, are eligible to apply for seminars from FY2020.

Persons who can attend all lectures during the seminar period. Equipments, such as personal computer, microphone, webcam, and internet connection, must be shouldered by the participant. The online lectures are supposed to be held from 11:30 to 14:30 and 15:30 to 18:30 in Japan Standard Time. For those in countries where there are difficulties taking live lectures because of the time difference, they are required to view a video stream of those lectures excluding sessions of presentations by participants and submit an assignment after each session.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Participants are requested to confirm their agreement with “Terms and Conditions for Participation in the AOTS Program,” which includes the following conditions:

Participants shall obtain a “Training Visa” by submitting the invitation documents supplied by AOTS to the Japanese Embassy or consulate in their country. AOTS may cancel the invitation of participants who enter Japan with the wrong kind of visa.

Reservation of tickets for air travel to and from Japan will be made by AOTS and the tickets will be sent to each participant in the form of an e-ticket through a travel agency. All participants are asked to ensure that they have made all the necessary arrangements on their side before starting their journey to Japan. A participant who cannot enter Japan before the beginning of the seminar will lose his/her place. AOTS will arrange their flights for arrival in Japan one day before the seminar begins and their flights for departure one day after the seminar ends.

Participants are not allowed to change the route, flight class, or date without the endorsement of AOTS. Participants are not allowed to overstay at cities in a third country between participants’ home countries and Japan for any reasons other than flight convenience. If participants change the flight route by themselves, AOTS may charge them the cost of their air ticket.

Participants shall not be accompanied by their family members to Japan during the seminar.

Participants must stay at the designated accommodations during the seminar.

Participants shall not request AOTS to arrange nor demand any additional program for themselves during or before/after the seminar.

Participants must attend all lectures, discussions, visits, and ceremonial programs arranged by AOTS.

Participants shall leave Japan and return home upon completing the seminar according to the original schedule proposed by AOTS.

Participants must waive their right to visit Japan and attend the face-to-face lectures if there is a high possibility that they cannot enter Japan or go back to their countries because of border controls related to COVID-19.

Suppose the majority of the participants would be unable to attend the face-to-face lectures in Japan because of border controls related to COVID-19, AOTS may conduct all the classes online or delay the face-to-face lectures in Japan. In this case, even if some of them would visit Japan without problems related to COVID-19, they must also waive their right to visit as initially planned and follow instructions by AOTS.

Regarding intellectual property rights, streamed lectures may not be downloaded or recorded in any way. They should not be used for any other purpose than participation in the seminar. Data distributed to participants through the lectures may be used only for designated and approved objectives. The ID, password, and any other personal information issued to participants may not be used by anyone other than the designated person.

Program fee: Php 15,000.00 ECOP MEMBER COMPANY

  • Inclusive of international airfare (local airfares in the Philippines and other transportation expenses not included), accommodation for the whole duration, food (breakfast, lunch, and dinner), transportation abroad, program fee, training materials, and daily subsistence allowance.
  • Exclusive of local travel taxes and local fares or transfers
  • COVID-19 testing requirements are not covered in the program fee and other medical declaration requirements.
