In 2018, the Dutch Employers Cooperation Programme (DECP) provided support to three chapters for ECOP in Pangasinan, Baguio, and Bicol to establish their Secretariat and carry-out an action plan that will make them fully operational later on. The project ran for six (6) months from January 15, 2018 to June 14, 2019 and was extended for another 3 months until September 14, 2018.

Since the presidents and key officers of the various ECOP chapter were attending the 40th National Conference of Employers, ECOP took the opportunity to convene them in a roundtable discussion to share their experiences on the implementation of the project. The roundtable discussion was held on 27 May 2019 at Belmont Hotel, Manila.

Ms. Clarine Tobias, ECOP Bicol President, and Ms. Erlinda Pan, ECOP Pangasinan President, reported on the progress of membership recruitment, services development and delivery, networking, and revenue generation of their respective chapters. They also shared their insights on what works and what doesn’t in the course of the project implementation. Ms. Michelle Lucas, ECOP Rizal President, also took the time to share with other chapter presidents the initiatives of ECOP Rizal. The chapter presidents were also able to discuss with DECP and ECOP national the areas where their support is needed and would be most beneficial.

Lastly, Mr. Jose Roland A. Moya, ECOP Director General, presented the chapter operating guidelines during the roundtable discussion. The chapter presidents provided their insights on the guidelines developed by ECOP national which was revised accordingly based on the recommendations gathered during the discussion.
