ECOP represented the employers sector during the 10th Asia International Labor and Employment Relations Association (ILERA) Advisory and Organizing Committee Meeting. ILERA will convene its 10th Asian Regional Congress on February 24-25, 2020 with the theme “Emerging Patterns of Work and New Forms of Employment Relations, Voice and Representation in Asia”.

With the advice of the ILERA Executive Committee and in close consultation with employer, worker and government partners as well as affiliated organizations, papers and presentations shall be organized in both plenary and concurrent sessions around the aforementioned theme.

The papers will focus on 4 tracks which include (a) future work patterns due to new technology, changing demographics and climate change, (b) emerging job, pay and performance design – freelance, platform-based and new forms of employment relations, (c) worker voice and representation in the context of Industry 4.0 and the digital economy, and (d) responding to emerging challenges: national and regional experience in labor and employment policy, and skills development.

As part of the Advisory and Organizing Committee, ECOP will be working closely with the University of the Philippines – School of Labor and Industrial Relations (SoLAIR), the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), the trade union movement in the country which includes the Trade Union Congress of the Philippines (TUCP), Associated Labor Unions (ALU), Federation of Free Workers  (FFW), Sentro ng mga Progresibo at Nagkakaisang Manggagawa (SENTRO), Partido Manggagawa (PM), Kilusang Mayo Uno (KMU), and IndustriALL Philippines.

The next advisory and organizing committee meeting is set on July 12, 2019.
