Safety in the Workplace:
Why COVID-19 Vaccination is Important

26 MARCH 2021 (FRIDAY) — 9:30am to 12:00pm PHT— via Zoom App

OVERVIEW

The Department of Labor and Employment releases guidelines on the administration of COVID-19 vaccines in the workplace.

In its Labor Advisory No. 03 Series of 2021, signed by Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello III on March 12, DOLE said that vaccination should not be made mandatory and those who refuse to be vaccinated should not be discriminated against, however, covered establishments and employers shall endeavor to encourage their employees to get vaccinated.

We all know by now that COVID-19 can be easily transmitted in the workplace. It is for this purpose that government, since day 1, has been instituting various policies and guidelines that will help establishments and enterprises in COVID-proofing the workplace with the end goal of protecting employees, customers, and other stakeholders.

ECOP is conducting the Executive Labor Update with the topic “Safety in the Workplace: Why COVID-19 Vaccination is Important”, especially that the government’s COVID-19 vaccination program is in the initial stage of roll-out, employers are seen to have a crucial role in terms of awareness-raising, promotion, and even making it a part of the company’s occupational safety and health programs.
