Program Overview

BOSH for SO1 is an 8-hour occupational safety & health orientation plus a 2-hour Training of Trainers designed to impart knowledge & skills on basic concepts & principles of OSH to enable potential safety officers to implement their company’s OSH program.

Program Objectives

At the end of the course, participants will be able to:

  • explain the importance of OSH, national OSH data, legislations & state legal basis of OSH
  • define & discuss the general concepts of OSH towards effective workplace OSH implementation
  • identify safety & health hazards in their workplace & their corresponding basic rules & control measures
  • perform risks/hazards assessment, evaluation & recommend appropriate control measure
  • explain the elements of workplace emergency preparedness program & discuss basic preparations for common emergencies
  • identify the prescribed administrative requirements with their corresponding penalties for violations
  • define their roles as OSH trainers & the basic skills necessary for trainers

Module 1: Introduction to OSH

-OSH Situationer Philippine data (PSA and DOLE Inspection Data)

Module 2: General Concepts on OSH
-Accident Causation and Prevention
-Unsafe and Unhealthy Acts and Conditions
-Definition of terms: safety hazards, health hazards, risks

Salient features of OSH Legislations
-RA 11058 and its IRR (DO 198-18) OSH Standards as amended emphasis on duties of safety officers, OSH personnel and OSH Committee-Salient features of DO 198 and OSH Standards

Administrative OSH Requirements
-Reportorial Requirements and Prescriptive Period of Submission (R1020, AEDR, WAIR, AMR, RSO & Minutes of Meeting)
-Mandatory OSH Programs
-Penalties for violations

  4. The recorded video of the session will be uploaded in our eCampus platform after each training session.
