Edgardo G. Lacson and Sergio Ortiz-Luis Jr. received fresh mandates for 2020 as chairman and president, respectively, of the Employers Confederation of the Philippines (ECOP) during its organizational meeting on 13 December 2019. Earlier, Lacson and Ortiz-Luis were re-elected with Antonio Abad Jr., Renato Almeda, Roberto Amores, Oscar Reyes, and Alfonso Siy for another two-year term as Governors from 2020 to 2021 by members of the employer group. The other incumbent members of the ECOP Board of Governors are Roberto Amores, George Barcelon, Francis Chua, Federico Marquez Jr., Ranulfo Payos, Diana Pardo-Aguilar, Ancheta Tan, and Jesus Varela whose terms will expire on December 2020.

ECOP is the country’s recognized organization of employers in the Philippines. It was established almost forty-five (45) years ago “to unify employers and employers’ organizations in order to safeguard and enhance employers’ interests in all areas of labor-management relations, including social and economic policy matters affecting such relationship, and to promote industrial harmony, social justice, and national growth.”
