The detailed documentation of the 19th executive labor update (ELU) on the implementing rules and regulations (IRR) of the new occupational safety and health (OSH) law conducted by the Employers Confederation of the Philippines (ECOP) on 19 December 2018 at the Makati Diamond Residences is now out. Director Teresita Cucueco the Department of Labor and Employment’s Bureau of Working Conditions (DOLE- BWC) was the main resource person. She explained the salient features of the IRR and answered questions raised by the participants. A panel of reactors- Engr. Robert Rubina, President and CEO of Synerquest Management Consultancy Services Inc.; Ms. Rhoda Caliwara, President of the Philippine Association of Legitimate Service Contractors (PALSCON); and Atty. Raul Francisco, Legal Counsel of ECOP-Calabarzon- discussed the practical implications of the new law and its IRR to the day-to-day operations of business. ECOP Director-General Jose Roland A. Moya acted as emcee and facilitated the open forum.
