The International Labor Organization – Bureau for Employers’ Activities (ILO-ACT/EMP) designed a tool entitled “The Six-Step COVID-19 Business Continuity Plan” to support enterprises during the COVID-19 crisis.

The self-assessment tool enables employers to assess the level of risk and vulnerability of their business and develop an effective business contingency plan (BCP).

The tool is divided into two main parts: 1) Risk Assessment section which presents the risk profile and level of vulnerability of the business to COVID-19 in terms of its impact on 4Ps: People, Processes, Profits, and Partnerships, and  2) Six-step process section which employs illustrative examples in each step to assist businesses in developing their own BCP.

At the end of the tool, a sample case study is provided analyzing the whole business situation in the context of the COVID-19 crisis and outlining the necessary key action points in coming up with a BCP.
