The inaugural meeting of the ECOP IR/HR Network was held last 28 February 2019, 1:30 PM, at the ECOP Office.

The ECOP networks are one of the organization’s priority programs for 2019 and are envisioned as platforms for learning and sharing among ECOP member companies in the fields of Industrial Relations and Human Resource Management (IR/HR), Occupational Safety and Health (OSH), and Corporate Social Responsibility and Responsible Business Conduct (CSR/RBC).

Members of the IR/HR Network discuss pending bills and proposed Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE)  regulations, provide inputs to ECOP position papers, and look into emerging industry trends and practices on issues that pertain to labor and employer-employee relations.

In preparation for the upcoming DOLE tripartite executive committee meeting on the newly enacted Republic Act No. 11165 or the Telecommuting Act of 2017, the IR/HR network deliberated on the draft Implementing rules and regulations for the law which elaborates the various duties and obligations of the employer should they voluntarily implement a telecommuting arrangement within the enterprise. In addition, the preliminary results of the ECOP Survey on telecommuting practices were also presented to the network members as supplementary information to guide them in providing inputs to the various provisions of the draft implementing rules.

The ECOP networks are still open for membership. For additional information, kindly send an email to [email protected].
