COVID-19 is a black swan event. No one could be able to predict the scale and impact that this has caused to global businesses, especially to micro and small enterprises as well as to aspiring and start-up entrepreneurs.

    • Examples of Digital Transformation – Provide classic examples of digital transformation before COVID-19 and some transformations done at present at home and abroad. We can also provide the best practices companies have done during the pandemic as they successfully shifted through remote work operations. We can also use this episode to assess a company’s digital readiness.
    • How to proceed – This leads to the next episode of the webinar, how do we proceed with digital transformation across the various facets of the business?

With The John Maxwell Team, she is an Independent Executive Director, Certified Coach, Speaker, Trainer, Behavioral Analysis Consultant/Trainer, YouthMax Plus with Nick Vujicic Certified Facilitator, Youth Facilitator, Parenting & Family Coach.

She is a co-founder of i-Metrics Asia Pacific Corporation – makers of the E-Commerce Intensity Index, E-Commerce Maturity Scorecard. E-Commerce Monitor.

She is a Certified Executive/Team Coach with Marshall Goldsmith Stakeholder Centered Coaching. She is also a Robbins-Madanes Trained Coach.

She helped the Department of Trade and Industry in coming up with the Philippines E-Commerce Roadmap (2016 to 2020) and working on its implementation.

She is Fascinate Certified Advisor (Fascinate Inc.), Certified Scrum Master, and Certified Scrum Product Owner. A Certified Practitioner of the Global Leadership Assessment 360 (Marshall Goldsmith).

She participated in the IVLP or International Visitors Leadership Program 2011 (individual program) sponsored by the U.S. Embassy. Featured as 1 of the 6 women innovator at the APEC Women and Economy Summit 2011, San Francisco, USA.

She got recognized as Champion of Philippine Internet and E-Commerce Hall of Fame Award given by Asian Institute of E-Commerce in 2010; Globe Tattoo Digital Elder Award 2009; E-Services E-Champion Awards 2008 – Policy and Legal Category by the Department of Trade and Industry / CITEM / Board of Investments; International Schools Cyberfair Ambassador Award 2004 and 2002 given by Global Schoolnet USA; World Summit for the Information Society (WSIS) Philippines Awards 2003 E-Learning Category for her E-Commerce Workshop Online.

Janette, as former technical consultant/executive director of the Congressional Oversight Committee for the E-Commerce Law, was instrumental for the creation of policies in the area of consumer protection (value added services, e-commerce, electronic banking), data privacy for the private sector, and acceptance of electronic payment in government.

As founding president of the Philippine Internet Commerce Society, she was instrumental for the passage of the Y2K Law and E-Commerce Law. She retired in 2002. Other organizations she served as board member in the past were the Philippine Computer Emergency Response Team (PH-CERT) and Internet and Mobile Marketing Association of the Philippines (IMMAP).

Dr. Deborah L Soule, is an independent researcher and consultant, and an adjunct instructor with the University of Massachusetts Lowell’s Manning School of Business, Northeastern University, and Emeritus Institute of Management. She teaches courses on business, management of technology and innovation, digital transformation and multi-sided platforms, organizational learning, and business analytics.

Dr. Soule’s research focuses on organizing and leading in the digital economy, examining how organizations apply and adapt to advancing digital technologies and pervasive connected data.  Currently, she is studying the cultural dimensions that support and shape successful digital transformation in organizations. She co-authored Corporate Information Strategy and Management (8th Ed), and has written extensively for management practitioners on organizational learning, digital transformation, innovation, and collaboration themes. She is also passionate about translating research and knowledge about the emerging digital economy into meaningful and actionable insights for both practitioners and students.

Dr. Soule started her career in Information Systems in the chemical and plastics industry, gaining experience of multidisciplinary and multilingual settings. She has worked in Europe, Africa and North America. Prior to returning to academia, she consulted on information systems and operations projects. She holds a Doctorate from Harvard Business School, an MBA from the University of Cape Town’s Graduate School of Business, and a Bachelor of Science from Rhodes University in South Africa.

The 41st Virtual NCE will feature four main topics focusing on (1) the Digital Employer, (2) the Agile Employer, (3) the Resilient Employer, and (4) Policy Reforms to Restart the Economy.

In addition to the abovementioned Conference sessions, the 41st Virtual NCE will also deliver pre- and post-Conference webinar sessions that will revolve around the four main topics which are designed to complement the Conference-proper topics. These pre- and post-session will run through June to July 2020 and August to September 2020, respectively.

The 41st Virtual NCE will allow participants to learn from local and international resource speakers through presentations, forums, and panel discussions. Participants will also be able to engage with our resource speakers through a moderated Q&A.

The year 2020 brought changes to the world of work and businesses were forced to adapt and adjust policies, practices, and plans. ECOP’s 41st Virtual NCE shall help prepare and equip businesses with creative approaches to respond to challenges of the future of business and work.
