The Employers Confederation of the Philippines (ECOP) conducted a series of orientation on responsible business conduct (RBC) in Iloilo, Baguio, and Pampanga. The module for the RBC orientation was developed support of The Walt Disney Company and in cooperation with the Employers’ Activities Programme of the International Centre of the ILO (ACT/EMP ITC-ILO). It consists of two (2) components: first on RBC covering discrimination, child labor, forced labor, social security, freedom of association, minimum salary and overtime, and management system, and second on occupational safety and health (OSH). The module was developed by ITC-ILO but has been localized by a joint team from the secretariats of ECOP and Philipine Exporters Confederation (Philexport) who have been trained online and face-to-face over a period of two (2) months.
The workshop in Iloilo was held on October 16, 2018. ECOP partnered the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry – Iloilo Chapter (PCCI Iloilo) under the leadership of Atty. Jobert Peñaflorida. The the workshop in Baguio was held last October 29, 2018, with ECOP North Luzon Chapter headed by Mr. Salvador Poserio, as ECOP’s partner. The workshop in Pampanga was also held last October 29, 2018. ECOP partnered with PHILEXPORT Pampanga led by its Executive Director, Ms. Marilou Balano.
