The International Labour Organization, in collaboration with the Philippines Institute for Development Studies, conducted a tripartite validation workshop on Green Philippine Employment Projections Model (Green PEPM) last 12 February 2018 at Hotel Jen, Pasay City.
The workshop is in line with ILO’s support in the implementation of the Philippine Green Jobs Act through the Just Transition to a Green Economy initiative. The results of the Green PEPM will serve as an input to the National Green Jobs Human Resource Development Plan and will inform the formulation of response measures that would ensure a just transition.
The workshop presented the conceptual and operational application of the Green PEPM and its initial projection results to tripartite partners and validate the model’s assumptions, results, and by-sector approach. Inputs on further actions from participating agencies and organizations both governmental and private were also solicited.
Ms. Erlinda Pan, ECOP Pangasinan President, was present at the validation workshop along with the representatives from Department of Labor and Employment – Institute for Labor Studies, National Economic and Development Agency, Department of Trade and Industry, Department of Interior and Local Government, Philippine Institute for Development Studies, Employers Confederation of the Philippines – Pangasinan Chapter, and others.
