The Employers Confederation of the Philippines (ECOP) and the Confederation of Danish Industry (DI) formalized its partnership for the next four (4) years through an agreement signed on September 28 September 2018 at the Makati Diamond Residences, Makati City. The signatories for ECOP are its Chairman Edgardo G. Lacson and Acting President Sergio Ortiz-Luis Jr. Ms. Bente Toftkaer, Director of Business Environment, signed for the DI.

 

DI’s support consist of an annual grant and technical assistance to implement ECOP’s objectives, outcomes and outputs based on an approved annual work plan. For the first year, ECOP will carry out a project entitled “Strengthening Bipartite Relations at the National and Enterprise Levels.” The overall objectives of the Project are: 1) establish a functioning and institutionalized bipartite dialogue mechanisms composed of ECOP, selected business groups, and participating trade unions to discuss and decide common positions on policy issues or programs/activities, and 2) jointly conduct enterprise-level activities that capacitate both worker and management representatives to engage in effective dialogue and other negotiation activities.

 

DI is the counterpart organization of ECOP in Denmark. It is Denmark’s largest business organization with over 10,000 members including traditional manufacturing enterprises as well as IT, telecom, transportation, trade, energy, and knowledge and consulting enterprises.
