The International Labour Organization, in coordination with the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), conducted a capacity building workshop (Luzon batch) on strategic compliance last 19-20 February 2018 at Century Park Hotel, Manila.

The main objective of this series of tripartite workshops apart from familiarizing partners on the strategic compliance approach to promoting labour laws compliance is to identify tripartite compliance priority issues and sectors to guide compliance and inspection priorities, as well as joint or partner-specific initiatives or campaign to promote compliance.

Present during the workshop were the officers of ECOP CALABARZON and ECOP Naga, Regional Directors/Assistant Regional Directors of DOLE, Labour Inspection Focal Persons in the regions, Chairpersons and Vice Chairpersons of Regional Industrial Peace Councils (RTIPCs) and representatives from the Project’s partner trade unions. The workshop was facilitated by ILO’s Regional Labour Inspection Specialist, Mr. Rene Robert. A similar workshop will be conducted in Cebu City on 22-23 February 2018 to accommodate the Visayas and Mindanao Batch.
