ECOP convened a follow-up action planning meeting with Valley Golf and Country Club (VGCCI) and its affiliate trade union, Federation of Free Workers (FFW), last November 7, 2019.

The initiative is part of the project “Strengthening Bipartite Relations at the National and Enterprise Levels”. The project is implemented by ECOP in partnership with the DI which aims to promote a more pro-active and mutually beneficial relationship between labor and management.

VGCCI is one of the nine (9) companies that have been nominated by the trade union partners to join the project and attend thematic workshops facilitated by DI, as well as craft an action plan on locally-initiated programs, activities, and/or events that both management and union want to implement to enhance trust and confidence between them.

Their action plan identifies the official establishment of a labor-management committee (LMC) as its top priority. Both management and labor believe that the LMC will enable both parties to have a more harmonious and mutually beneficial relationship, especially during CBA negotiations as well as their day-to-day activities.

VGCCI is set to conduct a two-day orientation on LMC on November 18-19, 2019. An effective communication skills workshop will also be conducted in December.
