The International Training Centre of the International Labour Organization developed a training package to equip business and employer membership organizations (EBMOs) with new training services for their members. The training package is part of a project to empower EBMOs to deliver training services on Responsible Business Conduct (RBC) and on Occupational Safety and Health (OSH).

Among the strengths of the project is its sustainability beyond the implementation phase with ITCILO.  Since the training package will be owned and managed by the EBMOs, it can become an integral part of their service offering to their members.

Prior to the 5-day face-to-face meeting in Bangkok, Thailand, the identified staff from ECOP and PHILEXPORT underwent a 30-hour distance learning course where they were subjected to a series of training modules and exams to familiarize them on the basic concepts of RBC and OSH. They participated in joint sessions and were then split into two parallel tracks, OSH and RBC, for a more indepth immersion on their specializations.

The first four (4) days of the meeting in Bangkok, Thailand was composed mainly of learning sessions on the concepts discussed during the 30-hour distance learning course while the last day of the meeting was dedicated to the development of the action plan of each country. During the action planning, ECOP and PHILEXPORT identified the opportunities where both can work hand-in-hand in conducting workshops on RBC and OSH.

ECOP was represented in the training by Mr. Jose Roland A. Moya, Ms. Jelermina Abigail Roxas, Mr. Ray Tadeo, Ms. Rhodora Snyder, Mr. Robert Maronilla, Ms. Daniella Reyes, and Mr. Neil Don Orillaneda while PHILEXPORT was represented by Atty. Rami Hourani, Ms. Nadine Jyka Abor, and Ms. Kassey Rose Del Pilar.

The project is funded by The Walt Disney Company and will run from October 2018 until December 2019.
