ECOP chapters should make themselves fully operational and put priority in ramping up their membership strategies, ECOP Acting President Sergio Ortiz-Luis Jr reminded the officers and members of the organization’s chapters from North Luzon during its members’ general meeting and executive labor update on October 29 at the Baguio Country Club.
“The chapters should provide their members relevant services responsive to their needs and requirements. This should answer the question: what’s in it for us to join ECOP,” Ortiz-Luis Jr. said.
He urged them to develop their value proposition which he said is the local chapters’ key selling point. “It is the collection of the most persuasive reasons why enterprises and other organizations should notice the chapters and become one of your members,” Ortiz-Luis Jr. said.
He mentioned that what the ECOP North Luzon chapter has organized is one of the elements of its value proposition: providing its constituents the platform to be updated on the most recent developments in the field of industrial relations and understand their implications in the day-to-day operations of running a business.
Meanwhile, he committed to provide the chapters “with the needed support, assistance and guidance every step of the way until such time that you can already stand on your own.” “Both the leadership and the Secretariat of ECOP are at your disposal,” Ortiz-Luis Jr. assured the chapters.
“We shall make sure that your administrative requirements are amply addressed, your awareness-raising activities are enhanced by dedicating a specific page for chapters in the ECOP website and making space for your contributions in our online publication, and our project activities are cascaded to benefit your member-enterprises,” he said.
