The Dutch Employers Cooperation Programme (DECP) Country Manager Mr. Andrew Moore visited the Employers Confederation of the Philippines (ECOP) last 9-13 September 2019 to discuss areas of collaboration for 2019 and 2020.

The DECP started working with ECOP in 2016 during which it has worked on a number of projects. These included provision of both technical and financial support for the development of ECOP chapters which provide a regional presence for the organization. DECP’s support gave the ECOP chapters an opportunity to explore ways in which they could expand their membership base and deliver a range of services to its constituents in the business community. Skills development, a priority concern of DECP, was also an area of collaboration with ECOP. DECP  extended support to ECOP in organizing a workshop to identify critical skills and enhance enterprise-based training programs using a number of practical tools.

For the remainder of 2019, the DECP has agreed to provide technical and financial support to ECOP for the conduct of a  membership climate survey and development of the organization’s business agenda. Moving forward from 2020, the DECP will continue its support to ECOP based on the results of the membership climate survey.

The Dutch Employers’ Cooperation Programme (DECP) is a public-private partnership established by Dutch employers and the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 2006 with the aim of strengthening the position of business member organizations in developing countries, including the Philippines.
